La r\u00e9trospective qui lui est consacr\u00e9e est foisonnante et didactique, elle permet une approche compl\u00e8te d&rsquo;un artiste qui m&rsquo;\u00e9tait alors connu que par son film <em>Rythme 21<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Rhythmus 21 (1921) Hans Richter\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/R_kceafWtbE?start=3&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans un entretien film\u00e9, Hans Richter donne les conditions mat\u00e9rielles dans lesquelles son film a \u00e9t\u00e9 tourn\u00e9 : une table avec deux lampes de chaque c\u00f4t\u00e9, une cam\u00e9ra fixe au dessus et une multitude de rectangles et de carr\u00e9s blancs, noirs ou gris, de toutes tailles. L&rsquo;exposition permet de comprendre le processus de cr\u00e9ation dans lequel Richter s&rsquo;est engag\u00e9 avec son ami Eggeling et dont Rythme 21 est une \u00e9tape cl\u00e9 : simplification \u00e0 l&rsquo;extr\u00eame des formes et des couleurs pour d\u00e9passer l&rsquo;unit\u00e9 statique d&rsquo;un tableau de chevalet, emprunt \u00e0 la musique de la notion de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rythmes-harmonies.fr\/591-quest-ce-que-le-contrepoint\">contrepoint<\/a>&#8230;<br>\u00ab\u00a0<em>Avec le film, nous nous confrontions non seulement \u00e0 l&rsquo;orchestration de la forme mais aussi \u00e0 ses relations au temps. L&rsquo;unique image disparaissait dans un flot d&rsquo;images qui ne se justifiait que s&rsquo;il aidait \u00e0 l&rsquo;expression d&rsquo;un nouvel \u00e9l\u00e9ment : le temps. [&#8230;] \u00a0On pouvait ais\u00e9ment diviser et \u00ab\u00a0orchestrer\u00a0\u00bb le simple carr\u00e9 de l&rsquo;\u00e9cran de cin\u00e9ma. Ces divisions ou parties pouvaient alors \u00eatre orchestr\u00e9es dans le temps en prenant le rectangle de la \u00ab\u00a0toile-film\u00a0\u00bb d&rsquo;une mani\u00e8re formelle et temporelle. En d&rsquo;autres termes, je continuais avec l&rsquo;\u00e9cran ce que j&rsquo;avais fait depuis des ann\u00e9es avec la toile. Encadr\u00e9 par le cadran d&rsquo;une horloge, l&rsquo;action se d\u00e9roule entre 10h00 du matin et midi. Que se passe t-il ? Sous l&rsquo;impulsion de quatre chapeaux melons, les objets semblent dou\u00e9s subitement d&rsquo;une vie propre et n&rsquo;en font qu&rsquo;\u00e0 leur t\u00eate !
